Accessing service at FSEAP is quick and hassle free.
Trained counsellors answer our phones 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our intake counsellors will help you quickly
connect with the service that you need.
If your organization subscribes to our Web-based information service, professionally reviewed information is instantly
available to you and your family.
Personal Care for You and Your Family
Based on 60 years of experience, Family Service has evolved an extremely effective approach to counseling we call Brief
Dynamically Supported Counselling. We have proven that this approach helps a very wide range of people with a very
wide range of concerns. We can help you and your family address workplace, relationship, emotional, trauma, crisis,
addiction and mental health concerns.
Brief Dynamically Supported Counselling is available in person, over the telephone or by using the internet. Long
term therapy is not usually covered by EFA programs.
If you are working on an issue that requires longer term assistance, we help you address your immediate concern
and at the same time we will facilitate a referral to the best possible resources in your community.

Specialized Assistance
Some concerns are effectively addressed by professionals who will help you determine what you need and provide appropriate
advice, collaborative coaching and/or printed resources.
Your employer can subscribe to specialized assistance for Legal, Family, Parenting, Parent/Teen, Emotional Overwhelm,
Addictions, Smoking, Nutrition, Career and Management concerns.
Some concerns are most effectively addressed by sharing experience and learning from others. FSEAP Thames Valley
provides professionally facilitated psychosocial groups. The focus of our groups change in the Fall and Spring. Please
consult our psychosocial group calendar.
Professional Information about the issues that concern you most
Sometimes specific questions can be adequately addressed by professionally qualified information. FSEAP provides information
in several helpful formats.
FSEAP offers Information and awareness seminars on a broad range of psychological, emotional, relational, financial,
addiction and worklife topics. For a full list of available seminars, please contact your organization’s
FSEAP OECP Manager.
You can access professional information from your counselor. Depending on your employers contract with FSEAP;
you can access information through our specialized assistance services, over the telephone, electronically and
over the internet.

Assistance that is Confidential
All our services are confidential. Your employer and fellow employees will not know what you discuss or what
information you access.
There are specific exceptions to confidentiality: 1) a court of law can order us to reveal information, 2) we will
reveal information if necessary to protect someone's life, 3) we are legally obligated to report concerns about children's
welfare, 4) your counselor may share your information with his or her supervisor and fellow counselors to help them provide
better service, and 5) you can ask us to share specific information.
